My Journey

I am a freelance dietitian who wears many hats.  I am an adjunct senior lecturer with the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur.  As a culinary instructor, I translate nutrition knowledge into practical day to day living skills.  In between writing projects I multitask as a mother to 3 young children.

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Dietetics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and went on to do a Masters in Science with Imperial College, London.  After working abroad (Singapore and the UK) as a clinical dietitian for a decade, I returned to Malaysia in 2009 as a lecturer with IMU.

I was previously the Secretary of the London BDA Branch and committee member of PENSMA (Parenteral & Enteral Society of Malaysia).  I have published several journal articles and I was a reviewer for the British Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics.  I contribute articles to The Star newspaper, Natural Health magazine and I am on the advisory panel of the Travel & Dining magazine.

I co-authored a book with my husband - “Food for your eyes” which was awarded the Best Cookbook in the World (Health category)  by the annual Gourmand Cookbook Awards 2013 in Paris.  My second book “Lite Malaysian Favourites” was published in March 2014.  I co-authored my latest book “Lost Recipes of Malaysia” with 4 other foodies and it was recently launched in May 2014.

When I am not busy with my work and kids, I am working on improving my tennis.
